There are many types of electric actuators. Electric actuators with different types and functions can be called electric valves when they are matched with valves. However, in the process of design and selection, only the parameters of valves are paid attention to, and the relevant requirements of electric actuators are ignored or not specified. Therefore, the following points should be considered in the selection of electric actuators:
(1) Electric actuators are selected according to the type of valves. There are many kinds of valves and their working principles are different. Generally, the opening and closing control is realized by rotating the angle of the valve plate and lifting the valve plate. When matching with the electric actuators, the electric actuators should be selected according to the type of the valves.

(2) According to the requirements of production process control, the control mode of electric actuator is determined. The control mode of electric actuator is generally divided into switching type (open-loop control) and adjusting type (closed-loop control).

(3) The electric parameters are determined according to the selected electric actuator. Because the electric parameters of different actuator manufacturers are different, it is generally necessary to determine the electrical parameters when designing and selecting the type, mainly motor power, rated current, secondary control circuit voltage, etc. Often negligent in this respect, as a result, the parameters of the control system and the electric actuator do not match, resulting in space-time jump. Fault phenomena such as brake, fuse fuse, protective takeoff of thermal overload relay, etc.
(4) The output torque of the electric actuator is determined according to the torque required by the valve. The torque required for the opening and closing of the valve determines the output torque of the electric actuator. Usually, it is proposed by the user or selected by the valve manufacturer. As the actuator, the manufacturer is only responsible for the output torque of the actuator. The torque required for the normal opening and closing of the valve is determined by the size of the valve caliber and the working pressure. But because of the difference in processing accuracy and assembly technology of valve manufacturers, the torque required by the same specifications of valves produced by different manufacturers is also different. Even the same specifications of valves produced by the same valve manufacturer are different. Torsion selection of the actuator when the type is selected is too small to open and close the valve normally, so the electric actuator must choose one. A reasonable range of torsion.
(5) Choose shell protection level and explosion-proof level according to the use situation.
