Scotch Yoke Pneumatic Actuator also called fork pneumatic actuator. It is a kind of piston actuator, which is suitable for switching off or metering control of valves at 90 degree angles, such as ball valves, butterfly valves and stopcocks. The fork pneumatic actuator usually refers to a pneumatic actuator with a single cylinder, two pistons and variable torque.

  Working principle: compressed air into the cylinder, the piston pushes the piston linear motion through the use of the piston pin and the fork U groove design will be the linear motion of the piston into the rotary motion of the fork, the fork rotates to drive the output shaft to rotate, so as to achieve control of the valve.

  Product classification: according to the different types of action, it can be divided into single acting fork pneumatic actuator and double acting fork pneumatic actuator.   When gear torque is higher than 7000Nm, rack and pinion actuators are often not cost-effective. Because of this reason, the pneumatic actuator is generally recommended to choose a high power shifting fork pneumatic actuator, which can provide higher torque output.

  The high power fork type pneumatic actuator symmetrical and inclined steel fork mechanism allows two types of torque output characteristics. Among them, the inclined steel fork mechanism, with very high starting torque, low operating torque, suitable for control of butterfly valve; symmetrical steel fork mechanism, with a more balanced torque curve, mainly applicable to the control of ball valves and cock valves.
